My Lady Lantern

All Praise to the Lady of Heaven and Earth, who lives in the heart of each lover of Ahlubayt (a.s).
If all the chirping birds roaring midst the blue garden along with all the bounties of the nature come together with the mankind to sing the praise of Fatima Zahra (s.a), and lay their words to write her attributes, none would do justice ,for the Creator and his Ahlubayt .(a.s). The Birth Anniversary of the most pious and the virtuous lady ,the magnificent and the splendid daughter of the Noble Prophet Mohammad (s.w.w) ,Wife of the Light of Mankind, and Mother of the Saviors of Islam embarks a significance which is beyond word's ,to the Creator's World and gives a direction to its Creation.

All praise to Allah,His Mubarka (s.a) is a role model for every women who carries the love of Ahlubayt (a.s) and feels it with every heart beat.Indeed ,HER teachings lives within  us,it lives in you and in me as well. And so my Lady Lantern is living silently within me,she is also living in you,and every other lady who carries her example to lead herself and brighten her path with the radiance of Zahra (s.a).
In times of distress,i look within me to gather the strength and bear the pain ,for it is nothing to what the daughter of Prophet(s.w.w) embraced silently. When my tears shed out,to cry over the hurdles around.I look at the sister next door who smiles all the way and cries only for Fatima(s.a) and her Progeny.
At times when i am perplexed, when halal and haram comes with no boundaries,i call out for my inner instinct who has read and heard of only Ahlubayt (a.s) and it inspires me to choose the difficult path and walk through the thorns to find no scar. When my words don't traverse to speak for me and my mind says to let it go,my heart stands stern for my rights,as the incidence of fidak lives in me.Their is an inspiration in me to remain patient and learn from my mistakes for i know i am imperfect but in hands of a perfect guide.

The sister i spoke to today, narrated her life and her struggles to make the two ends meet and accord it with joy,i questioned her to how she manages,to alter her dream and live it to make her husband's and  her reply made me grin and smile all through her narration. She said, O,dear,We Live by the example of  Zahra (s.a), the honest wife of the loyal husband, when she brought up her children, not placing a single demand on Imam Ali(a.s) and stood behind the burning door to safeguard her children and husband bearing a pain which can never be described in words,How difficult it is for us to alter our life and live in unison.I admired this sister more than before, and found my inspiration in her thoughts through her words.

My dear sisters,Life is a test of our Imaan, and our inspiration pulls us out during difficult times ,to be an inspiration in someone else despair.
Your strength lies within you,may be you can feel it now,may be you are unaware, but the good in you is waiting for an opportunity to explore the optimism you carry ,oblivious to your knowledge. You are wise and kind, but you don't know, knock your self, wake up your faith. If,your heart carries the love of Ahlubayt (a.s)then surely it has the flame of their teachings growing in you.The darkest chamber of any life will be brightened by that flame.
It is present in you,and in me as well.
My Parents have channelized their inspiration to make it grow has helped me equally to find within myself and sprinkled with love, care and knowledge, the garden of my life.
And so i conclude,My lady lantern is growing in my heart ,my inspiration lies in me and you,And your inspiration lies in you and  me.Hold it tenderly to let it come out and grace the world with its intricacy.
Seek and you shall find!

Not too long...

Three months and i was away from my blog, the place where i can be me.The place i love to wander,re-read every posts, appreciate them, and plan to carve a different set of words.Three months! How could i stay away? No,i could not.And i think i will  never be able to take a long holiday from the work i love to do.

In the race of chasing the zenith in life, many amateur and budding creative mind get locked as an attic in a chamber.I have heard people saying i was once an avid reader, now i am so packed with my schedule that i cant pull out a book, a budding artists looses on to the magical wand and his colors become a memory of shades.A player might crave for a practice session and a dancer moves without grace.Because we all are caught in the web of time and responsibilities.A few lucky ones are able to carry their passion to profession,a few blessed ones are able to set their priority as their passion in the hustle bustle around!Irrespective of the difference in our opinion ,i want to come to the point that no matter what our like is,it may fade with time .However,(I am not being biased) but a person for whom writing a poem or a piece of note is a passion,he may sneak in to the busy schedule to scribble a poem on a piece of paper or leave a note on blog.A writer cannot stay away from the words too long, the poet in him cannot put aside the heart stealing rhymes that drowns in his hearts. His words are his possession, its his creation and he puts it on the paper/screen ,no matter where he is.Because its his identity and a part of him.
And so i am here back on my routine,to put down my thoughts,to string them together and be me.
Not too long,i can stay away,
you are my life,my only way!

P.S:It is my personal opinion but difference of opinion is appreciated.

The 'Old' Rag Picker....

He walked down the aisle of dusky lane,
When the moon was set to go back in den
And the sun was rising to welcome rain,
The wind was dancing to the joy of day.

The birds on tree sang the song of hope,
And lane was filled with the moving spur!
The world wakes up for another day,
To welcome the freshness around in bay,
But,
"He" smiles midst the stench of your house,
The odor of waste that you all call !
Like a munchkin walking with his spouse,
He walks in hand and smiles with the foul.

Who is he?Thy rises from amongst us,
And moves against the crowd of worldly lust!
His eyes are sunken with the years of search,
Walking through the tiff of wealthy dirt!

His hands are crispy of  kissing the mud,
While digging the ground and picking up rug!
His weary shoulder speaks of the years,
that he carried all that was yours in pierce!

Alas, but when you pass by your bay ,
You sniff your nose and turn away!
But he listens to the tale of your rag,
And carries it close without a gag!

He talks to the broken glasses silently,
And the crumpled paper thrown violently!
They all narrate the pain of being dumped away,
In the corner of the lane, left to grey!

He separates the raw from the cooked ones,
Because,The 'old 'rag picker knows the pun!
His experience tells him their agony and pain,
Of not getting the respect they otherwise gain!

He gets them together and piles up the spaced,
And gives a life to the worthy waste!
They give him food and he gives them way,
To move ahead and find another ray......

He tells the world to live this way,
Carve the path and move with chaste,
Thy not dump thinking of waste,
Else pull up one,he will guide you to another way.....

P.S :The world and the wealth is a vicious cycle. Many a times we are thrown down for being of no use unless some one holds on to trust us to move ahead. And then you realize that it is actually "you" who helped him to find the way but he got you to the path to move ahead.Never look down on any one for every waste has a best hidden just an old rag picker needs to pull it out.

27th October! Why you should know this date.

27th of October is considered as " World Occupational Therapy Day " by the World Federation of Occupational therapy(WFOT) since 2010 .The World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) is the international voice of the occupational therapy profession which globally comprises of 80 national occupational therapy professional organizations.Their aim is to integrate all the nations on one platform to promote their work to reach out to larger masses and make a difference in the society to embrace each one who is considered different with an open heart to walk towards independence!

Seven years down the line when i stepped in to this profession i was clueless to where it would lead me.On an honest side i was always fascinated to relate the noble medical profession with the CPCR ,scalpels ,stents  and a stethoscope. But little did i know the other side of the medical faculty and the hands that heal through touch.I am glad to be enveloped in to this other side of the team .Today when I turn back , I know why 'Almighty' chose me for this noble work. This profession has transformed me in to an individual that my parents are proud of .AH!. Truly hospital life teaches you a millions of lessons that are beyond books and words. It has made me understand sufferings and get close to humans and humanity .Each person on the medical faculty holds the highest position because he makes an attempt to fill the lost hope and rejuvenate life! And so i place my profession to an equal height because it deserves to be there .
It is rightly said that "You know the value of a privileged possession more so after you loose it"!But as an occupational therapist i will never let you sink in to that feeling because my job is not about prescribing medicines or running in to emerg but making you stand , smile and walk with pride! My job is to make you live once again when you give up on it.I am here to make you believe that no matter what comes by your way or what name society gives you either differently abled or disabled i will make you stand at par with all. I am here to lead you to a healthy, successful and a quality life .

I am proud to be on the board of medical faculty and what defines me to be an "Occupational therapist' is not merely my degree but my attitude to bring out the "Abliity from Disability!"

P.S: I have not putting in any medical terminology in this post to make it heavier but i want to convey that this profession is an allied medical faculty that deals with rehabilitation post any kind of  physical or mental illness. We not only treat adults but children having developmental delays due to any natal or pre-natal complications or other genetic conditions that need our intervention. We also deal with children having neuro-psychiatric issues like ASD i.e Autism spectrum disorders .We have different treatment interventions and therapy techniques which we study for four and half years in  bachelors and extend our specialization for three years in masters.Currently i am pursuing my elective in neurology.
A humble request ,if you know of any patient presenting with physical or psychological ailment restricting him to live independently in the society , kindly send a referral because each individual has the right to live a content life!

Innocence in the eyes

Disclaimer:This post is dedicated to the team effort of 'Shia Women's Community' of Mumbai and 'Khadijatul kubra' team from Jogeshwari for their collective effort of making little one's day at Sakina Girl's Home at Yari Road,Mumbai.
Special thanks to the admins for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this beautiful celebration of the wedding anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s) and Janabe Fatima (a.s) with 44 beautiful girls who are the future of tomorrow.
The Event was on 19th September 2015 (i know i am a little late though but i want to put this here).

It was a very blessed evening which  started with a spiritual bliss, followed by a skit with super talented ladies who imparted the understanding of the influence of the demonic spirits in our daily life and how we get trapped into wrong doings. It was beautifully portrayed and wisely explained to our girls.Good team work! The celebration continued with scavenger hunt and lots of other activities and games. The girl's were presented with a goodie bag, chocolates and other eatables.
So, this was the brief highlight of the evening, but my core post follows next.

What i learnt from them!
Life is an unresolved mystery that overshadows the underlying essence of it when a human arch's himself to follow the shadow of the person next door and thereby missing on to what he possesses. Gradually he looses himself on the path of following someone else.He searches for happiness. He talks about peace. But the ignorant soul is unaware that the treasure lies within. The mirage of his expectations prison's the prism of his life that the radiance of joy never travel's across the glass to lighten his world rather reverts back as dark hollow chamber.Probably that's how humans have evolved. They have ascended from cherishing the small joys to cribbing on to bigger sorrows for not reaching on to expand their desires and thereby heaping their smaller and bigger sorrows into a boulder. In this vicious cycle all they are left with is agony and a collateral web of hopelessness.
What follows next-They live a lifeless "Life "!

Many a times, people who inspire you and whom you look up to, society calls them "Unfortunately looked down by life"!But i have observed that they are the people who know the true essence of happiness. It sparkles in their eyes, glows in their smile ,grows in their heart and touches your heart just like the fragrance of one flower when embraces the other and spreads to miles. And yes need not mention i could sense that spark and glow amongst those girls who giggled and smiled ,enjoyed and laughed each moment of joy.No worries of future,no expectation and no complaints trimmed down their moment. Most of the times our expectations and desires takes us away from the little joys that life presents us very often. Some pick it up and celebrate and others just walk past it.I don't want to drag this article further and make it a philosophical master piece :P and so i sum it up,"The pebbles of happiness are all around you.Just pick them up,live it to fullest and stay blessed.Don't forget to thank almighty for whatever you have."

P.S :This evening also gave me an opportunity to meet  enthusiastic like minded beautiful souls who made me feel very comfortable like we have been together since ages.Thank you girls.Yo all are wonderful.Elina wadia, Sana rajani, Enozia vakil ,Mohsina Dodhiya <3!

Blooming Meadow

The lush green meadow calls for happiness,
    When red,pink,yellow dance with oneness.
They sing the song of strength and might,
Against the storm when they stand to fight.
And shine like sun in the garden of life,
Wave with the breeze and move in time,
They are the flowers, hope in disguise,
Sparkle the green field and carve a smile.

I was inspired to follow my dreams

This post is a part of Write Over the Weekend, an initiative for Indian Bloggers by BlogAdda.

"Mumma...the paneer sandwich you made was very  tasty, my friend's enjoyed it  too" jumped joyous john, and his eyes sparkled with  pride . "Thank you my son,now go to sleep"smiled Reeta.
"I am not sleepy!"I want to listen to a  story mumma..
"What story?..The king's one.?
No i have grown up,i want you to read out something from your diary".
No sweety,it's mumma's book!"
But please , ..please..it's my 14th birthday..pleaded john
"My diary"thought Reeta,it's been long time"
She again stood back and said"Beta you won't understand anything"
No Mumma ,i want to know what you write and why you keep it so secretly,pleaseee..
"Ok Just a little"
"Thank you!", john bloomed with excitement

She quickly scanned through her cupboard to fetch her diary and began to flip pages. As her fingers were moving across them, her eyes got stuck on one of the notes and she began to read it ....

15/04/98
Dear Diary,
I know it's been a week i have reverted back after that post. You must be wondering why i am always cribbing but don't worry one day i will make it big and you will be proud of me.I am such a dreamer.Anyway today was a bad day in college, its my first year, i thought life would be so much different .Yes it is but not the way i presumed it to be.Rahul and Vinisha made fun of me when i came up with the idea of NGO.Everyone joined them and laughed on saying sanyaas le le"stupid people,Was i wrong in saying we will cut  on our party and spend something for  that empty stomach.Anyways i should stop expecting people to think like me.I should grow up.I just have a dream, may be not a big house and all luxury but be of help.My friend's don't get that .I know you need to be practical and realistic but i am not telling anyone to empty their pocket.I am just asking to do a bit.

As she continued to read ,Little John was fast asleep, she smiled at him, rolled up the blanket after kissing his forehead.
She eloped herself deep in the thoughts, her eyes sparkled of past and smiled innocently....
She brought her diary ,more close and kept reading to her self now..."

We are so self centered.I know i can't change everything but at least my contribution can bring some change.I wish i could do this some day. When i came up with this idea to mummy ,she laughed and said ,'beta hum apni hi madad kar lein" Papa ka loan ho jaanay do fir ye sab shauk karna" Huh! I wonder if  only money can help others. Can't you be of help with little you have.Is it that only rich people can be of help.I was very upset and so i have written a letter to daadi as well. She understands me best.I am sure she won't disappoint me.When i opened my book to read for next week exams  all i could see is that poor guy who asked me for food.I gave him biscuits and walked from college to home because mumma had given me only 10 rupees.Although its very hot and was tiring but i was happy i could do from my little. And that's what i wanted to convey to mom ,forget,i am too sleepy to write anything and irritated as well.Exams up,Mummy has so much expectations and these regular arguments with friends. But today i am promising you, this is my dream and i will follow it and you will see it real one day.
 -Reeta
*Tears rolled through her eyes, past memories began to appear and speak to her.She could sense all her fights and arguments and her determination to be different.*
She flipped through the diary and wrote:
13/09/15.
Today I am  a software developer by profession and a responsible mother.I have lived through the hardest time and today i am the founder member of 3 NGO's.I rejected the offer of being an analyst of a renowned MNC in states, just to personally continue with my NGO Feed All, Adarsh and Aasra.
All i can say is,thank you for always listening to me and being there.I owe you my past and future.
You gave me the direction to live it and so I was Inspired to follow my dreams.(she penned it down) and smiled to herself.
