Slow Down Zindagi

The Greatest weapon against stress is our Ability to

chose one thought over the Other!-William James

Stress is the silent Killer of all the happiness in life. But ,an antidote to it adds quality to Life.
It's weekend time, and my number of "to do 'pending things' has piled up on right shoulder drooping it down to the floor, and my left one is struggling with the weights of my text books that i am suppose to finish in a stipulated time. And my eyes is in a state of Nystagmus moving to and froth juggling between Articles, looking for the review of literature to support my thesis for which i am suppose to draft protocol and submit it to my guide on Monday morning. And to back this there are regular personal stressors etc around me.But wait i am all calm!..how?Something pulled me out,The Magical wand has kept me alive. The thoughts that were racing down my mind have paused for a while.
And i find myself in the perfect mood,My Hair is all soaked in the oil,My thin skinny book 'The Last lecture by Randy Paush' is Glowing midst the fat-Haughty Textbooks and to add to the glory i am sitting relaxed and writing this article on "Slow Down Zindagi"wahh,,,Kya baat hai :D

So,here are the  5 ways in which I De-stress and #SlowDownZindagi when it all becomes too much to handle.

1)Breathe In and breathe Out,Sit by the shore and Meditate.

My favorite relaxation point is sea face. When there is cognitive Overload, its time to vacate the extra thoughts and create space for self.Nothing can be more soothing than the fresh breeze. So,i just love to sit by the sea side leaving the chaos of the world behind my back and admiring the fineness of Life in front.Gulping the fresh air with deep breaths and engrossing in self carved world is a quick remedy for a long hectic week.

2)Maa k haath ka Head Massage

What can be better than going to sleep with a champi filled with love and care.

3)Lost in the Books

Bridging the Fictional stories with the non functional notes anything that takes me to" my world" is a place where i want to get lost to be never found. All time stress buster this is.

4)Bloggers world

Stepping in the bloggers world is another antidote to the regular routine. The wonderful posts,Motivating stories,Inspiring lessons & Healthy competitions add tadka to the tasteless dal of routine. And the cherry on cake is when my fingers move in symphony tuning together on the 26 Alphabets to bring out an eternal smile of mine and that is when my eyes meets my thoughts.Re-reading your own write up definitely gives a worthy feel, though i know there is a long way to go but each article brings out something better relieving a few weights off my shoulder.

5)Kuch Pal Hasee kay

Spending quality time with the dear ones takes away a little worries.Being totally crazy and laughing out like there is no one to watch around is tip to "Keep Calm".be it friends and family just go there and enjoy life.

De-stress and #SlowDownZindagi with Parachute and BlogAdda!

I am going to try a new quick way to De-stress & #SlowDownZindagi using Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil in association with BlogAdda‘ in your blog post

One MOMENT!

I try to define that one Moment,
Off which I am uncertain!
Like a shrub lost in bushes,
I wander in my world of Emotions!
My Heart “Conceals “the truth of it,
And yet “Concedes” it to be…
Left unanswered are those umpteenth questions,
Which pops on my every Action?
When I banish it from my thoughts,
It seeps in through my Heart!
Though I keep it away from me,
Yet I drift towards it.
When my soul ventures  in Quietly,
Intricate Barriers stop me.
My state of heart is inexplicable,
Seems to be caught in the ‘web of some sorcerer’
I escape from it wisely,
Unaware that I am still in it!
Then I screen through every moment,
To find the cause of indignation,
To my surprise is the Oblivious ONE
Which has crossed the path of Affection
Off which I am uncertain!

Far but yet Close

Dear Granny I miss you so much,
Cant put my feelings into Words.
I knew there would be a time for you to Go,
Leaving behind your Happiness and Sorrow.
But your journey from Earth to Heaven,
Was Like an Unexpected Rain!
Buried through the thoughts i Wonder,
What an irony of nature,
In pain you were left to suffer,
And happiness took you over.
Like a nightmare went that day,
With it when you Passed Away,
And left us in the Ocean of sadness,
Into which we sail till day
Just to Let you know my Dear,
You were the Light of our darkness,
And your Presence made our day.
I miss that Smile on your face,
Off experience would enlighten.
Your Crispy Lips when touched my cheeks,
Happiness would Roll from head to feet.
Your stories of ghost and beast,
In my thoughts still leap.
I miss the way you stood by my side,
Just to defend me in Plight.
Your last words come as an Echo,
Out they burst with tears and Flow.
Off the world when i hide,
In your memory spend some time,
Console myself you are still alive,
Far but yet Close to my life,
In my heart you Reside.

P.S:This poem is dedicated to my Grandmother Syeda Iqbal Fatima Wasti.A lady who was a friend to everyone. We Lost her on 27th Jan 2010,but she is and will be always alive in our hearts. My day begins and ends by remembering her.The most influential person and dearest to me.Dadda I miss u alot <3!

The Silent Observers

The worst enemy of humanity is "Silence".The Silence that bows to injustice..The Silence that many eyes comforted in when a rape victim was begging for help on the streets of Delhi two years back. The Silence that neighbor's choose against the domestic violence of next door. The silence when a girl is teased on road. The Silence against extortion. The Silence that prevails during biased recruitment. The silence against the child being forced to work at the construction site. The Silence that has covered up all the fake encounters. The Silence that fills the Scams and all malfunctioning in the system.
It is this silence adopted by us which gives the politician an opportunity to ignite the flame of riot in which we burn ourselves. The silence that rules our Life is the same "silence" that many of us carry when we have to speak rather when we should speak against ...................................................
Whats the big deal in protesting with the crowd when you stood silent when you were not suppose to?

The Hypocrisy of Humans, Chod na yaar, kya karna hai? ,"Ye toh Roz ka hai", "Chalta hai " "Who has time to get in "?, "Accident hua hai, police k chakkar mein kon padega?" ,"apna toh nahi hai na,?'," i care a damm,i have other work as well!",  "Roz ka raasta hai,in gundon se kon panga lega"?..xyzz..etc etc

After a day,Headlines flash" Candle Light Protest at....... against..........

Few days later"Kuch nahi honay wala is desh ka....And the Life goes on.............

The silent observers are the biggest threat to humanity.Till now i have heard and read about it,but today i experienced it.Like every day,i headed to my bus stop on the usual time of 8.30-8.45 from where i catch my BEST bus(its Local a bus service in Mumbai) for my college and it takes hardly 10-15 minutes for me to reach my destination.I reached the stop where there were already people waiting for the bus.Four men were sitting on the stop and a few standing.Surprisingly, all new faces for me.May be i had missed my regular bus by a minute and all my known faces must have gone.Anyway, that was not an issue for me.But there was an old ragged seemingly maniac guy, must be chronic schizophrenic or alcoholic, with long hair and beard, who looked like not had bath since ages ,was sitting adjacent to that stop on the footpath and eating some random things and muttering to self which gradually turned in to shouting and abusing to which no one payed attention.Everyone was busy in themselves, passerby's went their way,and we were waiting for the bus.A known face, soon came to the stop,an aunty whose name i still don't know neither much of her whereabouts, but i have been seeing her at the same time on the stop since my first year of graduation and now i am in first year of post graduation. We exchanged smile like always, and spoke a little of usual routine. We moved on the other side because of that ragged man and his abuses.A little later i got a call from my friend and as i was talking,in no time that ragged man came running towards me,stood in front and started abusing at the top of his voice. His speech was very much unclear. The only two words i could pick up apart from his abuses was "tum Musalman" and "utaaar ye"(pointing at my scarf)(May be some depressing past must have come up or whatever) .
For a moment i freezed, though i did not react much but i raised my voice to "Kya hai" with as much firmness as possible. He continued to abuse and went back to the place he was sitting at.
The passerby's had stopped for a while and later joined back walking, the men on the stop were unresponsive, they sat there like a hand made statue, unresponsive and not in contact with the happening. The aunty stood by me,comforting not to worry and i smiled at her,"i am fine" and pretended to be chilled like nothing happened. She ushered those men"Ap log kuch bolte kyun nahi" and one of those motionless object got a life and said"Koi Fayda nahi, faraq nahi padega"!! !(in my mind i was boiling of Anger). The other three men sat there dead to the world like before. To my rescue, bus came in the next few seconds, and we got it.The silent observers moved their ass.!
The next ten minutes till i reached college i just kept thinking, what if he would have hit me with stone, what if he would have done this and that...The silent observers shook my faith on humanity.I was angry irritated,,not on that ragged man because i presumed him to be insane, but rather on the sane ones who remained motionless.Had they only immediately stood at their place or walked a few step it would have made some difference. But....Silence Prevailed...

The Same Silence in which even we wrap ourselves at some point of Time....

It's Time to Introspect Our self??..But who cares...Ye toh Roz ka hai.....

P.S:This is a generalized opinion.A sense of deep respect for all the organizations/social workers NGO's or others ,working for the social cause and stand up when they should. Its they who make this place worth surviving.A request to all"Don't be a silent observer, rather a patient listener and an active speaker"Stand up when your fellow human needs you.

Walk it Up!

"Walking is the Best form of Exercise" is something i have Grown up hearing from Everyone. But the fact that remains hard is like many other wise advises ,i ignored this one too. When it came to walking, i have been the laziest Soul who takes car,cab or bus even to Market/any other Closest Place  which i can definitely walk up but my lazy calf's always give up before i venture in to it.I am an Occupational Therapist by Profession and Exercises and Rehabilitation is my bread and butter, and my endurance i feel is lower than a few of my Patients.Motivated to Condition my Body to optimal Endurance i decided to Exercise every day for at-least Thirty Minutes. The First week Post this decision was full of Energy.I started with Gradual warm ups and then resistive with weighted cuffs and Five pound dumbbell. My Father was all impressed by my dedication. And he advised me to start with push ups.I tried the First "Namaskar"{Push up}and i was flat on the floor and all the muscles of my body seemed to yell of Pain and i gave up.The Next day again i tried and was successful with one. This Routine continued for a week and then Mismanagement of time and schedule left me again in No Exercise Mode.Since Two Weeks i have been Promising to Self"Kal Se"But we all know Tomorrow never comes. But Today is there,so from today i started walking 5kms apx. which is the distance from my college to Home.Inspired by my friend Sneha who walks up around 8 km to her house every day i decided to try it out.And i could without getting fatigued.
.". Physical inactivity is estimated to cause around 5.3 million deaths each year,10 and in many countries the majority of people do not reach the minimum level of physical activity recommended for Good health "Walking is the best,Low intensity and easiest form of Physical activity, which not only helps to maintain the Physical Health but also Mental. It expels out the extra Energy channelized with Negativity and Frustration. It is also Refreshing once your body gets adapted to it.Following is the Research data available to support the Content.
 Citation:http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/walking-the-latest-research
Walking slows mental decline. A study of 6,000 women, ages 65 and older, performed by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, found that age-related memory decline was lower in those who walked more. The women walking 2.5 miles per day had a 17-percent decline in memory, as opposed to a 25-percent decline in women who walked less than a half-mile per week.
Walking lowers Alzheimer’s risk. A study from the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville found that men between the ages of 71 and 93 who walked more than a quarter of a mile per day had half the incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, compared to those who walked less.
Walking improves sleep. A study from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle found that women, ages 50 to 75, who took one-hour morning walks, were more likely to relieve insomnia than women who didn’t walk.
Walking lightens mood. Research reported in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that walking 30 minutes a day boosted the moods in depressed patients faster than antidepressants. Why? Walking releases natural painkilling endorphins to the body – one of the emotional benefits of exercise. A California State University, Long Beach, study showed that the more steps people took during the day, the better their moods were.

Further Walking also Provides an Opportunity for Meditative Intent. It Helps Body to Connect with Mind. Its a wonderful way of Changing focus.

Citation:http://news.stanford.edu/news/2014/april/walking-vs-sitting-042414.htmlCreative thinking improves while a person is walking and shortly thereafter, according to a study co-authored by Marily Oppezzo, a Stanford doctoral graduate in educational psychology, and Daniel Schwartz, a professor at Stanford Graduate School of Education.

Thus Walking is not a Weapon to tackle Mere Asthama,Diabetes or Heart disease rather its an Armor to stay Protected. After all the Old Wise Saying wins the Game”Prevention is better than Cure.”
Every Lock has a Key and So,there is a Solution to Every Problem.

To all the Disappointed Souls who had Sincerely started of Gym and Regular Exercise like Me :P,but could not continue for what so ever reason,”Just walk it up!And to those who Walk Regularly”You Rock!Keep it up.:)

From Haven to Heaven

Soulmate not necessarily is life mate. What do you feel? Express your take.

This Post is written for Indispire 50th Edition.

Her Vibrant Hand Shook the Cot,
She Trembled all around the House,
 O'Granny! You Please Don't Trot,
"Said , Munchkin",Holding Her Blouse.

She Sat Quietly Listening to her Breath,
Her Heart Wandered in Search of 'It',
She looked out of Window Pane,
Her Eyes Shined with the Rays.

Her Supple Spine Rested on the Stick,
As She Moved to and forth to find "It".
Her Eyes was looking for a Part of Her,
Which She Kept Hiding from Everyone.

The Lust of Her Life was Lying Beneath,
She Held it Close and Cried on 'It'!
"O,My Life,I Searched for you all Over,"
The Lady in White Cried with Fervor!

The Chapters of her Love and Broken Life,
  Was Weaved Together with Pride,
She Sang With 'It',the Melody of Joy,
And Stringed her tears before being Dry!

She Gently Caressed her Wrinkled Fingers,
By the Red Ink of her Secret Holder,
As she tightened her Grip on Fountain of Hope
She Knew it was time for her to go.

The Death Hour had turned up in Time,
She Continued Carving her Last Rhymes,
The Lifeless Object Moved in Grief,
Shedding Tears of Love to Disbelief!

For one Last time,She Read them all,
The Tales of Sadness and her Falls,
Her Diary Spoke of Worthiness to Her,
Whenever 'They' called her "A Looser".

The Love of Two was too Divine,
Away from the Reach of  Human Mind!
They Clinched to each other every Night,
Forming idylls of Verses and Rhyme.

She Lied her Back Resting on the Bed,
With her Love Sleeping on her Chest!
Her Diary began to Loosen up,
Unraveling the Mystery of Black Cup!

As She Began to Close her Eyes Forever,
She Smiled of Contentment Like Ever!
She Knew Her Secrets would Remain So,
As Her Diary would Not Let it Go!

The Old Beauty had Slept forever,
The Honest Love Began to Wither,
In Tempest Down, their Love was Driven,
To Travel together from Haven to Heaven!

Lonesome Wanderer

Solitude teaches some of the most valuable lessons in one's life. Comment or weave a story on this theme.

This post is for Indispire 49th Edition.

Dangling his Feet,
 Down the Rock,
  He Sat Smiling,
  At, His  Love!

   The Day was Pleasant,
And Winds Calm,
 Chain of Waves,
 Moved to and forth.

He Wrapped his Arm,
   Around Her,
 His Dusky World,
 Brightened with Colors!

He Painted the 'Black',
With Canvas of Love,,
Carving Clouds of Faith,
Over"Mountains Of Trust"!

Soon Shimmering Rays,
 Caressed his Wrinkled Arm,
Then,Glowed the Green,
As Golden Farm,

The Gentle Breeze,
Kissed Back her Love,
He Whispered to her,
Expressing His Love!

The Criss Cross Lines,
Of his Face,
Was Young at Heart,
 though Old in Age!

She Heard his Heart,
As No One Did,
They Spoke for Hours,
 Behind Gurgling Music!

His Weary Life,
Was Knit with Hope,
With the Lessons of,
Struggle She Spoke!

The Black Ocean,
Of His Eyes,
Was filled with Happiness,
And Began to Shine.

Waving his Love,
Goodbye for Day,
He Tottled,
His Red White-Stick for Way!

The Lonesome Wanderer,
  Had Heard His Muse,
  He Smiled Back,
  To Solitude.
