Dusty Hands! Wandering eyes!Yet a Smiling face?

Dusty Hands! Wandering eyes!Yet a Smiling  face?

                                  Whats the Tale!

The fresh soothing breeze around was gurgling amidst the setting sun behind our backs with intermittent honking of the various vehicles passing by the front of the road to which we gave a deaf ear as I and my friend were too engrossed in our chat.We were meeting after a long time. She stays in another city for her Education and visits Mumbai after six months or so,yet for a few days. This time she had come for a long time and i was too excited because she completed her MBBS and i Completed OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY!As we both are Medicos we had too much to talk about at that moment , right from planning a good outing, her uncomfortable hostel life,Cases we had seen, annoying seniors, studies, friends, upcoming plans etc.

An hour passed and we were still sitting there unshaken by any noise,we kept talking, laughing and cribbing about regular routine ,Life and our future, until a group of 5 kids came running one behind the other ,singing some popular rap song(i wonder where they heard it),which caught our attention for few seconds though, but we smiled and ignored to continue our never ending discussion. But in the background these kids were firm with their singing while running behind each other, which was disturbing us yet we continued to ignore them.Suddenly there rhythmic chorus turned in to  a coarse coversation"Jaa tere mummy ko Naam bolunga ,Maarta kya hai salay"said one ,Ab main nai dayn leta"replied the other and the fight continued over dayn kon lega??!Pointing at the youngest girl "Ab isko nai lene ka ye kaccha limbua hai"elder ones smiled smugly and the little girl immediately wailed saying"Nai main kacha limbu nai,Mai dayn legi"And the rest of them gave a devilish look to each other,As they had wisely caught a prey. They continued their chor police game around the tree right in front of us and the scooter parked adjacent to it.Poor Girl was running behind her elder friends with a zeal of enthusiasm and her tireless efforts was enough to prove that she is Not a kaccha limbu. In the Meanwhile I and my friend forgot all our talks and kept watching these kids who left us Mesmerized.Enthralled by the smartness of the elder ones and the determination of this little girl,we both kept quite ,smiled intermittently and watched them play!

As i was observing these kids i saw the layer of mud dusting their body to make it more dusky while they were rolling on the ground, falling upon each other and laughing out loud.I looked into one of their eyes, which was gloaming bright with joy of playing around the tree and climbing over it.Their grin from ear to ear was innocently talking about its satisfaction which most of us don't show up even after achieving a lot in life because we want more. The echo of their Laughter was carving a set of thoughts in my Mind.I kept Wondering what makes them so happy, that inspite of wearing ragged cloth & running around barefoot with no toys in hand brings smile to their face which is unlike the fake one we wear to fool the world when we are silently cribbing over our luck. So,Are they happy because they don't have to worry about the Rat Race in to which each kid is pushed right at an early age.?or Because they are not bothered if neighbor's son got a new i pad?Although,They don't wallow in these luxuries or wish for worldly desires because they don't know if they will get adequate food tonight but it seems they know that they wont get this time again.Their Happiness does not lie in toys/Pc Games to have fun,all they need is "Roti kapda aur Makaan"!Everyone's Defination of happiness varies. There is nothing wrong to aim for more but yes what we need to learn from these kids is enjoying the present Moment by' Being Happy' when you get an opportunity to be happy rather than crying and spoiling it.
" So, i should learn to be happy when i am suppose to be and need not worry Least i have those luxuries they don't even dream off" I was telling this to myself when my thought was interrupted by a soft low voice of plead "Didi, paisa do na??"and i was pulled back to ruia katta and my friend was staring at me ,her eyes saying "where were you lost'?I smiled and presumed she understood ,then i took out a few coins, handed over to that Girl asking her to share with everyone. She went with fervor to other kids who ran across the road with  joy and soon dispersed far in the crowd.
The fresh breeze was now more soothing than before and the sun had almost set down waving goodbye to another day,We left that place but carried a memory of those kids playing chor police game.As we started walking back to our home, not to be surprised ,the fulcrum of our discussion was how blessed we are.To Conclude "Aksar Zindagi ka sabse bada sabakh un logon se milta hai jinhe 'Chota' kaha jaata hai"
